Christmas and Chanukah to share spotlight in ‘Giving Season’ production

SAN DIEGO (Press Release) — Write Out Loud presents its annual celebration of the season with  a program of short stories designed especially for the whole family.   This year Sean Sullivan and Lynne Griffin, popular San Diego actors, are flying into town from Toronto just in time to participate. 

Sullivan, a San Diego native, and his wife, Lynne, have performed extensively at the Old Globe, North Coast Rep, and on other local stages.  In fact, when they married the Old Globe’s  Craig Noel walked Lynne down the aisle.

Amanda Sitton, now on stage in Cygnet’s It’s a Wonderful Life and Write Out Loud co-founder, Walter Ritter, complete the cast. 

All four actors will take part in reading Bret Harte’s Dick Spindler’s Family Christmas;  Lynne Griffin will read King John’s Christmas by A.A. Milne;  Ritter will read The Christmas Apple by Ruth Sawyer;  Sean Sullivan will read Letter on the Wind – A Chanukah Tale by Sarah Marwill Lamstein; and Amanda Sitton will read The Loudest Voice  by Grace Paley.  The latter concerns Jewish children who perform in a New York City schools  Christmas play.

“‘Giving Season’  will be performed at the Old Town Theatre in San Diego on Saturday, December 11, at 12:30pm and again on Monday, December 13, at 7pm.

The final performance will be at the Schulman Auditorium of the Carlsbad City Library, 1775 Dove Lane, Carlsbad,   on Monday, December 20 at 7 pm.

Tickets cost $15;  $13 for seniors, students, and active military.  Children age 5~12: $5.
