POETRY CONCERT– Poet Jerome Rothenberg teams up with Yale Strom’s sextet to present a free concert,  “The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising,” commemorating the 1943 Jewish Resistance against the Nazis, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, in Rhapsody Hall of the SDSU Music Building. Rothenberg will read some of his poems in Yiddish, while violinist Strom will be joined by Issac Allen (violin), Yuan Zhang (cello), Jeff Pekarek (bass), Richard Tibbits (flute), Robert Zelickman (clarinet) and Elizabeth Schwartz (vocals).(619) 594-5327

LENORE BOHM TRIBUTE — Waters of Eden, San Diego Community Mikvah, will honor Rabbi Lenore Bohm, the first woman rabbi in San Diego, for her 30 years of service to the community, at an evening of kosher food and music at the Scripps Seaside Forum at La Jolla Shores, Thursday, May 17.
