Campaign 2012: Dumanis and Filner press mayoral candidacies

-Staff report-

SAN DIEGO (SDJW) — The two Jewish candidates in the four-person San Diego mayoral contest campaigned on Tuesday by announcing endorsements and urging national action to improve the ports.

One of those mayoral candidates, District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis, was lauded by former Democratic Congresswoman Lynn Schenk, who said of the Republican law enforcement official: “Bonnie Dumanis has shattered ceilings for women in law enforcement to become San Diego’s first woman District Attorney. As Mayor, Bonnie will bring a proven track record of innovation, a detailed reform plan to get our schools bak on track and the chief executive experience to keep San Diego moving in the right direction.

The other of the two Jewish mayoral candidates, Democratic Congressman Bob Filner, attended a news conference with Port Commissioner Scott Peters, whom he has endorsed in the congressional race against incumbent Republican Brian Bilbray.

Filner supported Peters in his call for national investment in infrastructure to improve ports, railroads and highways for the more efficient movement of goods throughout the country.

“China is spending 9% of their Gross Domestic Product on infrastructure investment,” Peters noted as Filner looked on approvingly. “Europe is investing 5%. And here in the richest country in the world, we are only investing 2.5%, and Congress is trying to cut that. That’s no way to increase our competitiveness in a global economy.”

Dumanis released a bipartisan list of San Diego women who are supporting her candidacy in the non-partisan race for mayor.  Among those listed were Schenk and such other active members of the Jewish community as former Port Commissioner Laurie Black, Barbara Bry, Jane Fantel, Laura Jo Galinson, and Elaine Galinson.

Someone ought to give Lynn Schenk some clues to reality concerning Bonnie Dumanis.
http://familylawcourts.com/bonnie_dumanis.html … Dumanis protects herself, but not others. And that’s on a good day. On a bad day, she’s also very petty.

And it took her office forever to prosecute Patricia Gregory.

So please. No more rah-rahing for her in your pages.

    Thank you.

    Most sincerely,

    Bonnie Russell
