Performer David Geist headlines Emanu-El gala May 17

SAN DIEGO (Press Release)–Temple Emanu-El ‘s annual spring gala, “A Night of Shining Stars” will feature pianist David Geist performing a selection of popular music, including hits from Broadway musicals. The event, which includes dinner, cocktails and both a silent and a live auction, will take place on May 17 beginning at 5:30 pm in the Temple sanctuary.  Tickets are $72 for general seating and $136 for premium seating. Tickets may be purchased by contacting the Temple office at (619) 286-2555.

David Geist is a concert pianist, cabaret performer, composer, educator and Broadway conductor dedicated to the art of piano and song. He has worked on Broadway shows Cats, Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, The Lion King and Wicked, among others. In addition, he has performed with and coached stars Sarah Brightman, Michael Crawford, Betty Buckley, Rita Moreno, and Hugh Jackman. Geist was born in San Diego, educated at the Berklee College of Music and currently resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Temple Emanu-El, the host of this event, is a Reform Jewish Congregation that is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism.  It serves approximately 450 family and single members.  The synagogue is located at 6299 Capri Drive, San Diego 92120 off Interstate 8 at the College Avenue exit.
