ENCINITAS, California (Press Release) — The second annual Shir Energy Music festival will be held on Sunday, June 1 at Temple Solel, 3575 Manchester Avenue, Cardiff by the Sea, CA 92007 from 11 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The event is a multi-generational music and cultural event, whose purpose is to bring together community, celebrate art, inspire one another and uplift the human spirit.
This year’s headliner is Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary. Yarrow’s talents as a creative artist—both with the legendary trio Peter, Paul & Mary and as a solo performer—are frequently directed at using music to convey a message of humanity and caring. His gift for songwriting has produced some of the most moving songs from Peter, Paul & Mary, including “Puff, the Magic Dragon,” “Day is Done”, “Light One Candle” and “The Great Mandala.” As a member of the renowned musical trio, Yarrow has earned multiple gold and platinum albums, as well as numerous GRAMMYs.
Other performers for the event include Euphoria Brass Band, Yale Strom, the Peter Sprague Band, Craig Parks and Hullabaloo.
The venue will include three stages: one each for adults, teens and children. Along with the celebration of Jewish music, activities include arts and crafts, a game truck, food and beverages. On the Tracks Brewery will be there for adults to sample their latest beers! Adult tickets are $15 and teen tickets are $10. Admission is free to kids under 11. All proceeds from the event support music education and the Seany Foundation. The 2014 Shir Energy Music Festival is sponsored by Temple Solel, The Leichtag Foundation, The North County Jewish Hub and the Seany Foundation.
There will be free parking all day at nearby MiraCosta College with regular shuttle service to Temple Solel.
