Hoffer named as AABGU associate director

Ben Gurion University logoLOS ANGELES (Press Release)–American Associates, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (AABGU) has announced the appointment of Andrew Hoffer as associate director of its Southwest Region.

Hoffer has nearly 20 years of experience in cultivating and securing major gifts, as well as organizing capital campaigns and special events for a broad range of education, healthcare and social service organizations.

“We are excited that Andrew Hoffer has joined AABGU with his credentials and experience to increase donor support for the University’s initiatives,” says Philip Gomperts, regional director.  “It is more important than ever to support Israel, and working together we will continue to have a meaningful impact on the growth and success of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.”

Prior to joining AABGU, Hoffer was director of development for the Jewish Home Foundation, where he helped coordinate a $215 million capital campaign and major gift programs. Before that, he was executive director of leadership giving, Western states for the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science.  Previously he was director of development for the Los Angeles office of the Anti-Defamation League, and served many years at fundraising consulting firms.

“I am honored to represent such an outstanding university, which is making significant contributions in many areas to the State of Israel and for the betterment of our global community,” Hoffer said.

Hoffer received an M.B.A. in nonprofit management in 1993 from the University of Judaism in Los Angeles, and a B.A. in speech communication in 1985 from the University of Northern Colorado. He lives in Los Angeles with his family
