House of Israel to preview Chanukah Dec. 5-6

SAN DIEGO (Press Release)As part of the December Nights celebration in Balboa Park, the House of Israel will preview Chanukah by serving traditional latkes (potato pancakes) and sofganiyot (jelly filled doughnuts) on Friday, Dec. 5, from 5 to 10 p.m, and Saturday, Dec. 6, from noon to 10 p.m.  Food will be served from within the House.

Adults can also join us in the International Spirits Garden, where we will serve Hebrew beer, Sabra liqueur, Aviv Vodka, and Yarden Wine.

Doron Peisic and Band will perform Saturday at 4:00 on the stage outside of the House of Israel.

(This year, the Chanukah holiday begins the evening of December 16 and ends the evening of December 24.)

Participating Balboa Park museums open their doors free of charge from 5-9 pm both evenings and more than 300,000 visitors are expected to experience the joy of San Diego’s largest free community festival. Those who attend will participate in a truly multicultural experience, enjoying food, music and entertainment from around the world.  Admission is free.  There is a charge for parking.
