LA MESA, California (Press Release) – Chabad of El Cajon has arranged a Chanukah celebration outside the Bath & Body Works at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, according to Rabbi Rafi Andrusier.

The event will include live music, dancing, gelt, fresh latkes, coffee, a grand raffle, visits from elected officials, and the lighting of a giant Chanukah menorah fashioned from balloons.

“The Menorah serves as a symbol of America’s dedication to preserve and encourage the right and liberty of all its citizens to worship G-d freely, openly, and with pride,” Rabbi Andrusier commented.

“Specifically in the United States, a nation that was founded upon and vigorously protects the right of every person to practice his or her religion free from restraint and persecution, the Menorah takes on profound significance, embodying both religious and constitutional principles.”
