ENCINITAS, California (Press Release)– The Women’s Auxiliary of Seacrest Village Retirement Communities will host its 37th Annual Gala, “Emerald City” on Saturday, February 21st at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla with Rusti Bartell Weiss serving as Gala Chair. Weiss became involved with Seacrest Village (San Diego Hebrew Homes) at the requests of Sigrid Fisher who was the first President of the Women’s Auxiliary and her own mother, Ina Bartell, who served as Treasurer. In the spirit of honoring those who have lived long lives, the Women’s Auxiliary’s mission is to nurture and enrich the quality of life of the residents of Seacrest Village.

Hundreds of guests are expected to attend in support of the good work of the organization to provide the finest in housing and healthcare options for current and future residents, many who have depleted their resources due to illness or injury, and have nowhere else to turn. This evening’s goal is to raise funds to purchase 60 medical-surgical beds and mattresses for the Joseph & Dorothy Goldberg Healthcare Center. Short and long-term residents receive comprehensive, state-of-the-art physical, occupational and speech therapy services and 24-hour nursing care in the Goldberg Healthcare Center. A significant part of the goal is to also raise funds to support the $2 million of charitable care that will be provided this year.

The evening will feature a cocktail reception at 6pm, live auction, dinner at 7pm and music by the Eve Selis Band. The live auction will include three items: a Dinner Party for 10 in the Private Wine Room of Jeffrey Strauss’ acclaimed Pamplemousse Grille, a Two Bedroom One Week Stay at Northstar Lodge by Welk Resorts in Lake Tahoe or Sirena Del Mar in Cabo San Lucas and a One Week of Rejuvenation for Two at Rancho La Puerta.

“This year’s theme is Emerald City which is perfect to honor the heart, courage and wisdom of everyone who supports Seacrest Village,” shares Weiss. “Thanks to family and friends in this community, we have grown so much and created an outstanding organization – something each and every one of us can be proud of.”

Gala Sponsorships begin at $500 per person and include event recognition and valet parking. Individual tickets are $360 per person. Special pricing is available for individuals 35 years and under. Dress code is Cocktail Attire, Ruby Slippers optional.
