IsraelFest scheduled Sunday, April 26

jewish Federation of SD CountySAN DIEGO (Press Release) The Jewish Federation of San Diego County and community partners will sponsor the annual community celebration of Yom Ha’atzmaut – Israeli Independence Day. On Sunday, April 26, Israel Fest will be held at the Nobel Athletic Field, 8810 Judicial Drive in the University Town Center neighborhood from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.  This is a free event to celebrate Israel and educate our local community about Israeli culture.

The entire Jewish community of San Diego will be participating, including Friendship Circle of San Diego, which will be kicking off the day with the annual Friendship Walk at 9 a.m. to benefit children with special needs. State Sen. Marty Block and U.S. Rep. Juan Vargas, both San Diego Democrats, will be in attendance.  Last year’s event attracted more than 5,000 attendees and expect a great turn out this year!

Israel Fest is a day of family fun, a community-wide celebration of Israel, and a celebration of our local San Diego Jewish community. This year’s Israel Fest will feature live-music from Jewish singer and songwriter, Craig Taubman, Israeli dancing by Yoni Carr, plenty of local entertainment, kosher and delicious food, group activities, and more! Additionally, there will be kid’s activities, sports and games, teen programs, arts and crafts, a senior’s club area.
