A boy and his friends at Comic-Con

SAN DIEGO – Having just completed second grade at the Kavod Elementary School, a public school charter at which Hebrew is added to the regular English-language curriculum, my grandson Sky Masori now has two languages in which to exchange greetings.

But, of course, not all the personalities—alive or modeled—whom Sky met at Comic-Con spoke either of those two languages.  So my 8-year-old little name dropper happily called out their names and received in return a pose, a hug, or a high-five.

Sky’s fantasy friends include beings from the world of Disney to the superhero universe of the comic books and movies.

Here are some of Sky’s friends—and that little fellow in the yellow shirt, the one with the big smile, that’s a youngster experiencing his first Comic-Con.
