Humoring the headlines: July 13, 2015

SAN DIEGO─ Donald Trump claimed that “corrupt Mexican officials obviously let” drug cartel kingpin El Chapo” escape through an elaborate mile long tunnel.  Now Trump faces a dilemma: he either must build his wall between the Mexican-American border both upward and downward or force Mexico to delegate the administration of prison tunnels to Chris Christie.

A Federal judge refused to renew the trademark for the Washington Redskins mascot and name because they disparage Native Americans.  Although the team plans to appeal the ruling, in the interim it will adopt the name the Washington Rebels and furnish its mascot with a Confederate battle flag.

If the Titanic had received the bailout just granted to Greece, it would have never sunk.

Congress approved the selling off of some of the US Oil Reserves to subsidize the development of new medications.  The principle behind the plan is to lessen one addiction and increase another.

Impressed by Pope Francis’ condemnations of income inequality, Bernie Sanders has asked the Pope to be his running mate if Sanders wins the Democratic nomination for President.
