SAN DIEGO (Press Release) — Members of Congregation Beth Israel elected Mitch Siegler as president of the congregation for a two-year term during its annual membership meeting. He follows Meg Mandel, who has served as president of the Board since 2013.

Siegler has been an active member of Beth Israel since 1990. Most recently, he served as vice president and secretary of the Board and as a member of the Executive Committee, Finance/Budget Committee, and the Endowment Campaign Cabinet. He served as co-chairman of Beth Israel’s Strategic Planning Committee in 2009-2010, and chaired a Special Committee of the Board in 2014 to examine various strategic and financial issues and propose recommendations.

As president, Siegler is looking forward to engaging with members to continue growing the Beth Israel community. “During my term as president, my focus will be on strengthening membership and engagement and community-building,” said Mitch. “To maintain the vibrant community that has flourished here for more than 150 years requires the effort of many – not just from our clergy, staff and Board – but from our members too.”

Siegler also serves as Senior Managing Director of Pathfinder Partners, LLC, a leading real estate private equity firm and fund manager based in San Diego, which he co-founded in 2006. He began his career as a corporate executive for Anheuser-Busch, Inc., spent five years as a partner with a boutique investment banking/venture capital firm in San Diego, and several years as a partner in a national management-consulting firm. He also founded and served as CEO of several businesses.

He is a frequent speaker at real estate conferences, and writes regularly for national real estate and finance publications. He is widely quoted by media in news stories. Siegler has a M.B.A. with the highest honors from the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University, and earned a bachelor’s degree in finance (with honors) from the University of Missouri, Columbia

Siegler and his wife, Elizabeth, live in Point Loma with their children, Jacob, 20, and Rebecca, 15. Jacob is currently a student at the University of California, Davis. He was a participant in the Beth Israel Madrichim program and a member of the 2011 confirmation class. He works during the summer as a counselor at Camp Hess Kramer. Rebecca became a Bat Mitzvah at Beth Israel in 2013 and is a member of the Madrichim program. Both kids began their Jewish education when they attended the Bill and Sid Rubin Preschool at Beth Israel.

“Mitch Siegler is the perfect individual to be the next president of the Board of Directors,” said Rabbi Michael Berk, senior rabbi at Congregation Beth Israel. “I have no doubt that his deep commitment to Jewish identity and community service, as well as his experience on the Executive Board and committees, will bring a new level of member engagement to our congregation.”
