CBI Men’s Club schedules political discussion

SAN DIEGO (Press Release) — The Men’s Club of Beth Israel of San Diego features Al Korobkin as its guest speaker at the January 20 Dinner Forum. Al’s presentation will focus on the 2016 presidential election, the Democratic and Republican candidates running for the nomination of their parties, and characteristics of the various state primaries and caucuses.

Korobkin currently serves as a facilitator for a bi-weekly political discussion class at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of California, San Diego; a position he has held since 2007.  The class is devoted to the hot political issues of the day.

From 2005 to 2015, Korobkin worked as a Pro Tem Administrative Law Judge for the Office of Administrative Hearings, serving as a mediator for cases scheduled before the Special Education Division.

From 1965 until 2000, he worked as an attorney for the California Department of Justice, serving as a Deputy Attorney General, Supervising Deputy Attorney General, and Senior Assistant Attorney General.  During his last ten years with that Office, he was in charge of all disciplinary prosecutions against licensed physicians in the State of California.

Korobkin graduated from Occidental College in 1962 with a B.A. Degree in Political Science (with honors), and from UCLA School of Law in 1965 with an LL.B. Degree. He was also an editor of the UCLA Law Review.
