SAN DIEGO (Press Release) — The Men’s Club of Beth Israel of San Diego will host Cory Briggs as its guest speaker at its February 17 Dinner Forum. Attorney Briggs’ presentation will focus on The Citizens’ Plan Voter Initiative: What it means (and doesn’t mean) for the future of tourism, football, and infrastructure in the City of San Diego.

Briggs has been an attorney for more than 20 years, with a focus on environmental law, open-government law, taxpayer-protection law, and other public-interest topics. He has successfully represented clients in numerous cases against public agencies on matters of pollution control, failure to disclose public information, backroom deal-making, conflicts of interest, and voting-rights violations.

Briggs is also the author of a new initiative that will be presented to City of San Diego voters in 2016, “The Citizens’ Plan for the Responsible Management of Major Tourism and Entertainment Resources.” The plan is available for reading at www.citizensplan.org.

Briggs and his wife are also very active Beth Israel Temple members. He is a graduate of U.C. Riverside, California Western School of Law, and the Claremont Graduate School. He continued his graduate studies in law and in philosophy at George Washington University and at the University of Maryland, respectively, where he also taught jurisprudence, business ethics, and environmental ethics.

This program is open to the entire San Diego community. A buffet dinner will be served. The dinner fee: $15 with an RSVP, $18 without an RSVP. RSVPs may be made via http://cbisd.org/event/mcforum-feb-2016/. To register call 858-900-2598, or send us email to cbimensclub@gmail.com.
