Kaplan to re-retire from JCF; Pearl to take interim slot

JCF_colorSAN DIEGO (SDJW) — Marjory Kaplan, who last year returned to the Jewish Community Foundation as interim President and CEO, will once again retire on Feb. 1, it was announced by JCF Board President Jane Scher.

Kaplan will be replaced on an interim basis on that date by Jeremy Pearl, who has been serving the Foundation as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Pearl will continue to serve in his previous positions while taking on the duties of Acting President and CEO. The Foundation Board meanwhile will remain “committed to a search process that will identify a permanent leader who will guide the Foundation to serving the community at even higher levels.”

Scher noted that in the first half of the fiscal year ending Dec. 3, the Jewish Community Foundation “has already facilitated more than $70 million in grants.”
