Federation launches ‘Directed Giving’ program

jewish Federation of SD CountySAN DIEGO (Press Release)– The Jewish Federation of San Diego County has launched a Directed Giving program, which enables donors to direct their gifts to the programs and issues they care about the most.

For 80 years, Federation has served as the umbrella organization for San Diego County’s Jewish community, funneling funds and grants to many different Jewish organizations and beneficiaries. Today, in responding to modern philanthropy trends – Federation is putting the donors in the driver’s seat. After listening to the community, and understanding that donors want to give to projects that inspire them personally, directed giving seemed be the best solution allowing donors to make the most direct impact.

Donors can direct their gifts to such 2016 Federation initiatives as caring for seniors in need, engaging with local Jewish teens, helping build an inclusive community, connecting the next generation of young adults or simply giving to Federation’s World of Good fund which allows the Federation to utilize the money in the areas of most critical need.

Federation believes that enabling donors  to direct their gifts will further motivate them to throw their whole selves into challenges and connect them with the local community on an even deeper level.
