LA JOLLA, California (Press Release) — Hundreds of guests are expected at the Women’s Auxiliary of Seacrest Village Retirement Communities’ 38th Annual Gala, themed the “Silver Screen,” on Saturday evening, Feb. 27, at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla, according to co-chairs Esther Fischer and Linda Platt.

Proceeds from the gala will support the Jewish organization in providing “the finest in housing and healthcare options for current and future residents, many who have depleted their resources due to illness or injury and have nowhere else to turn,” according to the co-chair.

In addition to raising funds to support the $2.2 million of charitable care that will be provided this year, this evening’s goal is to raise funds to purchase Seacrest Village TV (SVTV). SVTV will be a dedicated TV Channel that will allow every resident on the Encinitas and Rancho Bernardo campuses, regardless of physical ability, to participate in services in the synagogue, enjoy live music and theater being performed on campus, and feel the warmth and connection of these events. SVTV will end feelings of isolation and provide residents who may be too ill to leave their beds or rooms an opportunity to “attend” services with their Rabbi when they most need their spirits lifted and need to receive a message of inspiration, hope, and healing.

Irwin Jacobs, co-founder of Qualcomm, says of he and his wife, Joan, “We’ve been supporters of Seacrest Village for years and have always enjoyed attending the Gala. This year, we are especially pleased to support Seacrest in its goal to implement new technology to improve the lives of residents. We believe deeply that technology can be used to create a more connected and meaningful life and we want this to be a reality for the residents at Seacrest.”

The vintage Hollywood Glam-themed evening will feature a cocktail reception starting at 6pm, live auction, dinner and entertainment, including dancing and music by Wayne Foster Entertainment. The live auction will include three items: a Dinner Party for 10 in the Private Wine Room of Jeffrey Strauss’ acclaimed Pamplemousse Grille, a Fender acoustic guitar signed by Paul Simon, and a private tour and set visit to the hit TV show Modern Family.

Gala Sponsorships begin at $500 and include event recognition and valet parking. Individual tickets are $360 per person. Special pricing is available for first time attendees and emerging community leaders (40 years and under). Dress code is Red Carpet Cocktail attire.
