jewish Federation of SD CountySAN DIEGO (Press Release)– The Jewish Federation of San Diego County and community partners have scheduled an annual community event to celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut on May 15  at the San Diego Jewish Academy, 11860 Carmel Creek Road, from 2 pm to 5 pm.

This is a free event to celebrate and educate our local community about Israel and its culture. The entire San Diego Jewish community is participating, including Friendship Circle of San Diego, which will be kicking off the day with the annual Friendship Walk at 1 pm to benefit children with special needs in San Diego and Israel.

The festival will include live music, entertainment, with local and special performances, Israeli folk dancing, a circus, kid’s activities, sports, teen programs, arts and crafts, games, a seniors club area, shopping and delicious kosher food!

The booths are back! This year the Jewish Federation has partnered with many local organizations, synagogues and vendors to come together as a community to show solidarity and celebrate Israel’s birthday. Last year the event attracted more than 5,000 attendees and even more are anticipated for Israel’s 68th!
