ENCINITAS, California (Press Release) – Seacrest Foundation and the Women’s Auxiliary of Seacrest Village Retirement Communities will host the 39th Annual Gala on Saturday, February 25th at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla with Cindy & Larry Bloch serving as Gala Chairs. The annual gala raises funds to benefit the Seacrest Village charitable care program: the Resident Assistance Fund.

Cindy and Larry have been tremendous supporters of annual campaign efforts as well as capital drives for building new facilities. Their involvement goes back to the early 2000s.  With a family member residing in the independent living community at Seacrest Village at Encinitas, the Blochs spend a great deal of time at Seacrest Village and are truly considered part of the Seacrest Family.

Their goals for the Gala are to raise funds for current charitable care needs and also to raise awareness of the growing need for charitable care that the organization anticipates. “I’ve worked on and attended many Seacrest galas; with Larry’s mom now living at Seacrest Village the time is right for us to take a more active role in supporting this great organization. It would be my hope that everyone in this stage of life has a warm, loving, and safe community in which to live like my mother in law, regardless of their ability to pay,” said Cindy. Cindy is not only chairing the gala to ensure the current health of the organization, but she is also working to ensure future health as a Seacrest Foundation Board Member and Chair of the Legacy Committee.  Seacrest Foundation raises funds for Seacrest Village Retirement Communities and also Seacrest at Home, which offers professional care-giving in one’s home.

Hundreds of guests are expected to attend to support this important cause. The Resident Assistance Fund at Seacrest Village provides support for current and future residents who have depleted their financial resources and have nowhere to turn for housing and healthcare. The evening will celebrate the many residents and families whose lives have been transformed as a result of the care and services they receive at Seacrest Village.

“For 39 years, the San Diego community has turned out in impressive numbers to help raise money that gives hope to seniors who are desperately in need of housing, comfort and support,” said Robert Haimsohn, President of Seacrest Foundation. “Each year we gather to support Seacrest’s important mission of providing services to seniors in a Jewish environment that promotes community, independence and innovation, while having fun at the same time. Every day for the next 19 years, 10,000 baby boomers will reach age 65. The need for senior care is going to be tremendous and I am grateful to this year’s Gala Chairs, Cindy and Larry, for their efforts to help Seacrest be ready.”
