Chabad of La Costa fetes first responders Aug 28

CARLSBAD, California  (Press Release) — The North County Jewish Center, Chabad at La Costa, is hosting a celebration on Sunday, August 28th from 12 – 3 p.m. and will be honoring the Police and Fire Departments of Carlsbad. The first responders, their support staff, and their families are being invited to come to the Jewish Center for a day of food and fun that will coincide with the Center’s annual Open House festivities.

Rabbi Yeruchem Eilfort, Director of the Center, explained, “Our local police and fire departments work incredibly hard and often dangerous jobs. They do so to keep us, the citizens, safe and sound. Too often these efforts are taken for granted, or worse, unfair criticisms are leveled at these dedicated professionals. In Judaism, there is an important emphasis to acknowledge good deeds. We felt that these heroes should be recognized, and so we are doing so, and while we are at it we are inviting all of our friends and neighbors, Jewish and non-Jewish to join us!”

The event will include numerous attractions and lots of entertainment designed for the whole family. Included in the plans is a Hot Dog lunch (strictly kosher of course) with Snow Cones and Cotton Candy, a Ventriloquist Show, Clowns, Face Painting, a Shofar Factory (the Shofar is a ram’s horn blown on the Jewish New Year), a Virtual Reality Room, an Old West Marshal with his ‘Hoosegow’ (Old West jargon for a jail), an authentic Telegraph (old fashioned texting device), music, Challah Baking, arts-n-crafts, and lots more.

This event is being cosponsored by Chabad at La Costa, Chabad of Encinitas North, Omni La Costa, EmbroidMe Encinitas, Jon Rozansky Realty & Mortgage Services, and the San Diego Jewish Journal. There is no charge and everyone from the entire community is invited. RSVP by calling 760-943-8891 or via email, info@chabadatlacosta.com.
