Veterans Affairs Officer to discuss benefits

SAN DIEGO (Press Release) — Beth Israel’s Men’s Club will host Robert Lewis, a National Veterans Affairs Officer, at its March 15 Dinner Forum. His presentation will cover benefits available to veterans, their dependents and survivors.

Lewis is the President of San Diego Chapter 12, Montford Point Marine Association and also is a member of the Jewish War Veterans of U.S.A. Greater San Diego POST 185. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry and a Degree in Nursing from Norfolk State University.

He entered the United Stated Marine Corps in 1965 and served as a 2nd Marine Division Bandsman. He also served in Vietnam during 1968. He retired from the Veterans Administration (VA) Healthcare System in 2012 after 29 plus years, where he served as a Registered Nurse.  Working in the Patient Education Department at the VA in La Jolla, California, he also served as an Educator, Veterans Advocate, and assisted veterans with their disability claims.
