  1. The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations issued the following statement:

    The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations today welcomed the introduction of the Countering Iran’s Destabilizing Activities Act of 2017 in the Senate by Senators Corker, Menendez, Rubio and Cardin and cosponsored by a bipartisan group of ten other senators that would impose new mandatory ballistic missile sanctions, apply existing sanctions to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) for support of terrorism and would enable the President to block the property of those engaged in illegally transferring prohibited weapons to or from Iran.

    Stephen M. Greenberg, Chairman and Malcolm Hoenlein, Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the Conference of Presidents, said, “This bipartisan legislation targeting Iran’s belligerent, provocative and destabilizing behavior in areas not covered by the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran’s nuclear program is long overdue. From day one after the JCPOA was implemented Iran has defiantly pursued a dangerous course of action fanning the flames of violence in the Middle East and beyond, fueling instability and promoting terror.
