CAARI director to tell of older adult tours to Israel

SAN DIEGO (Press Release) — Susan Horowitz, director of the Canadian American Active Retirees in Israel (CAARI), will brief the public at 6:45 p.m., June 15, at Ohr Shalom Synagogue on plans for CAARI’s 2018 mission to Israel.

Under the auspices of the Jewish National Fund, retirees or semi-retirees (age 50 plus) sponsor tours of Israel ranging from two to seven weeks.

The tours go throughot Israel and offer participants opportunities to vist kibbutzim, wineries, farms, agricultural research centers, archeological sites, and JNF forests and projects.

Participants also will also meet people from all walks of life, volunteering in hospitals, community agencies, public schools and universities. In the evenings they will hear lectures from speakers such as archeologists, rabbis, Ethiopian immigrants, economists and Israeli Defense Soldiers discussing issues, politics, finance and culture too.
