S.D. celebrates Israel’s independence May 21

SAN DIEGO (Press Release) The Jewish Federation of San Diego County and community partners have scheduled the annual community celebration of Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israel Independence Day) on May 21  at the San Diego Jewish Academy from 2 pm to 6 pm.

This is a free event to celebrate and educate the local community about Israel and its culture. Friendship Circle of San Diego, which will be kicking off the day with the annual Friendship Walk at 12:30 pm to benefit children with special needs in San Diego and Israel.

The festival will include a free live music, entertainment, with local and special performances, Israeli folk dancing, a circus, kid’s activities, sports, teen programs, arts and crafts, games, a seniors club area, shopping and delicious kosher food!

The booths are back! This year the Jewish Federation has partnered with many local organizations, synagogues and vendors to show solidarity and celebrate Israel’s birthday.  Last year there were more than 5,000 attendees and the Jewish Federation expects more for Israel’s 69th!
