  1. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today applauded a decision from a federal court in Hawaii that blocks the implementation of the most recent version of President Trump’s travel ban.
In Hawaii v. Trump, Judge Derrick Watson concluded that “EO-3 plainly discriminates on the basis of nationality” and does not show “sufficient findings that the entry of more than 150 million nationals from six specified countries would be ‘detrimental to the interests of the United States.’”
“Judge Watson rightly recognized that this executive order, like the ones issued in January and March, is xenophobic and driven by bigotry,” said Jonathan A. Greenblatt, ADL CEO. “The window dressing may have changed, but make no mistake: this is Travel Ban 3.0.
“This country has always been at its best when it welcomed the stranger, and has looked back in shame when bigotry and fear has prevailed,” Mr. Greenblatt added. “We are pleased to see that Judge Watson blocked most of this deeply problematic executive order from going into effect.”
ADL said it will continue to oppose discriminatory policies that single out communities based on their ethnicity, their nationality, the language they speak, the religion they practice, or any other basis.
