San Diego Jewish History project

San Diego Jewish World owns the archives of the San Diego Jewish Press-Heritage, which include editions of the forerunner newspaper, the Southwestern Jewish Press. The newspapers in these archives are becoming brittle and yellow with age.  Both to preserve them and to allow the public to search for stories about past members of the San Diego Jewish community, we are transferring the stories and some of the photos in the archives to the internet.  If you would like to see if a friend or family member is mentioned in the archives so far transferred, type that person’s last name into the search box to the right of this notice.   All the stories containing that last name will be compiled on your screen.  You can access each of the stories by clicking on its headline.
