NEW YORK (Press Release)– Accomplished pole-vaulter and recent Israeli citizen, Jillian Schwartz, will be bringing fierce competition to the 104th Millrose Games, where she will be facing Brazilian star Fabiana Murer.
The American-Israeli Olympic hopeful brings over 10 years of pole-vaulting experience to the Millrose Games. Schwartz made the 2004 U.S. Olympic team with a runner-up finish in the trials. She placed second at the 2004 USA Indoor Championships and had a career best at the 2004 World Indoors, where she cleared 4.60m (15’1”) Vault to place fourth and become the fifth American woman ever to clear 15 feet. In 2009, Schwartz became and Israeli citizen to pursue her dream of vaulting in the Olympics for the Israeli track & field team.
The 104th Millrose Games will be contested Friday, January 28 at Madison Square Garden. As the first event of USA Track & Field’s Visa Championship Series, the Millrose Games will be televised live on ESPN2, 8-10 p.m. EST.
