SHABBAT DINNER — Chabad House near San Diego State University welcomes community members to an 8 p.m. Shabbat dinner at 6115 Montezuma Rd, San Diego.

POETRY — Ida Deichate, Joan Kurland and Bonnie Baron will be featured at “Jewish Poets-Jewish voices,” at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21, in the Astor Judaica Library at the Lawrence Family JCC.  Baron will read the poetry of her late mother, Gertrude Rubin, while Deichaite and Kurland will read their own works.  858-362-1150.

— The San Diego Center for Jewish Culture presents STan Levenson, author of When Brooklyn Was Heaven, and Sid Shapira, creator of Stories Be Told, at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23, in the Astor Judaica Library.  Admission $8 JCC members; $10 visitors.

HAMANTASCHEN — Members of Congregation Dor Hadash in the Kearny Mesa area of San Diego will bake and sell hamantaschen from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, March 4.
