SAN DIEGO –Mazal Tov to the UCSD Tritons for Israel and Pro-Israel community on Wednesday night’s 20-13 vote to defeat a divestment resolution targeting Israel. The UCSD Associated Students (AS) government heard seven hours of hateful rhetoric demonizing Israel as well as heartfelt testimonies defending Israel and the truth. Daniel Friedman, the Tritons for Israel president, and his closest advisor and Hillel Shaliach, Amir Lev, and their incredible team of devoted pro-Israel students lobbied and educated AS governors weeks prior to the vote that divestment is divisive and anti-peace.
StandWithUs was proud to support the students alongside such groups as Hillel, SPME, T.E.A.M., NCSY, and ADL.
Unfortunately, this delegitimization and demonization of Israel will continue at UCSD and also at SDSU during their upcoming “Israel Apartheid Weeks.”
