Women’s Museum salutes Hollywood’s glamour age

SAN DIEGO — Pianist and storyteller Jacquelyne Silver will present “The Extraordinary World of Glamour,” a show about Hollywood in the 1920’s and 1930’s,  to benefit the Women’s Museum of California, at 2 p.m., Sunday,  Jan. 12, at the museum located at 2730 Historic Decatur Road (Barracks 16) at Liberty Station (formerly Naval Training Center) in the Point Loma area.

Silver, a member of the Jewish community, will be joined on stage by Carolyn Ayres, who will portray an iconic Jewish actress of the period, Lauren Bacall (who is a first cousin to Israel’s President Shimon Peres.)

Tickets  for the event are $20 for those who register in advance, and $25 for walk-ins the afternoon of the performance, which is being shown in conjunction with the museum’s current exhibit “The Guts Behind the Glamour.”
