Future Israelis march in NYC parade

NEW YORK (Press Release) — More than 80 Jews from around New York who are planning to make Aliyah in the coming months marched alongside the NefeshB’Nefesh float in this year’s Celebrate Israel Parade in New York City on Sunday, June 1.

The prospective Olim included families and their children, young professionals and retirees. The parade’s 50th anniversary drew more than 35,000 New Yorkers who marched up Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue in a show of solidarity with Israel.

Among dignitaries riding on the Nefesh B’Nefesh float were Israel’s Minister of Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption, MK Sofa Landver, Nefesh B’Nefesh Co-Founder and Executive Director Rabbi Yehoshua Fass and Nefesh B’Nefesh Co-Founder and Chairman Tony Gelbart.

Nefesh B’Nefesh promotes Aliyah from North America and the UK in collaboration with the Ministry of Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption, The Jewish Agency for Israel, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael and JNF USA.
