Tifereth Israel to host speakeasy night Nov. 17

SAN DIEGO (Press Release) — Tifereth Israel Sisterhood will host a Roaring ’20s-themed party, the “Sistahood Speakeasy (ssh!)” on Saturday evening, November 17, at the synagogue at 6660 Cowles Mountain Boulevard, San Diego

The event gets underway at 7:30 p.m. with a cocktail hour, complete with piano and lounge singer. A full, no-host bar continues all night.

In addition to the hooch, attendees can visit the casino and play black jack, craps and roulette, complete with dealers. A live dance band will let all the flappers and dappers get out on the dance floor and practice their Foxtrot, Black Bottom and Charleston moves (dance lessons included).

The $40 entry fee includes welcome drinks, appetizers, a full buffet dinner and desserts and an opening stash of game tickets. Opportunities for great prizes will be available. Thematic apparel is encouraged (but not required).

“Sistahood” promises the event will be the cat’s pajamas and the bee’s knees!

Tifereth Israel Sisterhood, celebrating 70 years of service to the community, is a social, philanthropic and service organization offering Jewish women, as well as men, a space to socialize and engage in the mission of enhancing Jewish bonds and supporting the greater San Diego community’s needs.
