New Holocaust memorial inaugurated in Vienna

A new Holocaust memorial in Vienna commemorating the Jews from Austria murdered by the Nazis was inaugurated on Tuesday. The 64,440 names are inscribed on 160 granite tablets placed in an oval in a park near the University of Vienna. Tuesday marks the anniversary of the Nazi pogroms in 1938 known as Krystallnacht, or the Night of Broken Glass. Austrian Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg and Israel’s Diaspora Minister Nachman Schai were among those who attended the ceremony.
