SAN DIEGO (SDJW) — Jewish culture was on display in the presidential race featuring images of Vice President Kamala Harris and her Jewish husband Doug Emhoff as well as on campaign buttons with “Kamala” written in Hebrew letters.

At Comic-Con, SDJW photographer Fred Kropveld snapped a picture of a man who is a doppelganger for the late Leonard Nimoy, who portrayed Spock, the half-human, half-Vulcan science officer in Star Trek.  The unidentified cos-player gave the Vulcan salute signifying “Live Long and Prosper.” Nimoy adopted the gesture from the split-finger priestly benediction quoted in Numbers 6:22-27:

“May the LORD bless you, and keep you; May the LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; May the LORD lift up His face to you, and give you peace.”
