House of Israel’s Lawn Program Set for May 18

House of Israel in Balboa Park

SAN DIEGO (Press Release)– On Saturday, May 18, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., the House of Israel warmly invites the San Diego community to our Annual Lawn Program in Balboa Park, just outside our cultural cottage. This free, family-friendly event is one of our most beloved traditions—an afternoon full of culture, connection, and celebration.

This year’s theme is Unity, a tribute to the beautiful mosaic of Jewish and Israeli life. We’re proud to showcase a wide variety of communities that reflect the richness of Israeli society, including representatives from the African American Jewish community, South African Jewish community, the Druze community, and many more.

Our MC for the day is none other than Kosha Dillz, Jewish freestyle rapper and cultural ambassador, who will bring his signature energy and heart to the stage. Guests will enjoy an exciting lineup of live performances, interactive activities, delicious food, and cultural exhibits for all ages.

We’re also honored to be joined by local elected officials, who are coming to show their support, meet members of the community, and stand in solidarity during this special event.

Your safety is our priority. We are working closely with San Diego Police Department (SDPD), park rangers, and private security to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone in attendance.

While some of our performers are professionals, this event is largely powered by volunteers who give their time and energy to bring this day to life. We’re still looking for more helping hands—if you’d like to be part of making this incredible event happen, we’d love your support.

➡️ Sign up to volunteer here.

The House of Israel is proud to serve as a cultural bridge between San Diego and the global Jewish community through our participation in the House of Pacific Relations International Cottages. The Annual Lawn Program is a shining example of our mission—to educate, celebrate, and bring people together.

Join us on May 18 to experience the spirit of unity through music, culture, food, and community in the heart of Balboa Park. Everyone is welcome!
