Shared USD, Bar-Ilan University Prof. to Discuss Legal Threats to Israel July 2

On Wednesday, July 2 at 9 a.m., American Friends of Bar-Ilan University is hosting a timely webinar with Prof. Avi Bell — a member of Bar-Ilan University’s Faculty of Law, a professor at University of San Diego School of Law, and a Senior Fellow at the Kohelet Policy Forum.

Prof. Bell will provide key insights on the conflict with Iran from the vantage point of international law, the ongoing and potentially forthcoming lawfare campaigns against Israel, and how the Jewish state and its supporters can respond to legal threats. “Lawfare” is the strategic use of legal systems and institutions to achieve military or political objectives.

In addition to his current positions with Bar-Ilan and University of San Diego, Bell has served as a visiting fellow in the Project on the Foundations of Private Law at Harvard Law School, a visiting professor at the law schools of Fordham University and the University of Connecticut, director of the Global Law Forum at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, and as former president of the Israel Law and Economics Association.

He is deeply involved in public service and diplomacy, assisting governments and non-profit organizations with training, legal advice, and strategic direction. He has consulted with and given testimony to senior officials and committees of parliaments, governments, and international organizations on six continents.
