SAN DIEGO (Press Release) — SDSU President Adela de la Torre welcomed the four MGSDII Professors teaching at SDSU in Fall 2025, at a luncheon hosted by the President’s Office and organized by the Jewish Employee Resource Group and the Presidential Task Force on Strengthening Community and Combating Antisemitism.
Over 50 faculty and staff were there to welcome acclaimed journalist Roni Kuban, historian Dr. Tal Elmaliach, biblical archaeologist Dr. Erez Ben-Yosef, and Israeli literature professor and editor Dr. Dekel Shay Schory.
President de la Torre spoke on the importance of such programming: “Murray Galinson believed strongly in California higher education and in SDSU, and the MGSDII aligns wonderfully with our firm commitment to using higher education to transcend borders and prepare experienced global leaders. Murray’s vision and generosity continue to be a gift to our students, enabling so many top Israeli scholars to visit and enrich the classroom and our faculty’s depth and breadth of knowledge and perspectives. Our students develop a more nuanced understanding of their field on a global stage–in fields as diverse as journalism to business–and they become stronger, more informed citizens and leaders.”
MGSDII is deeply grateful for the President Office’s support of our efforts to bring balanced discourse about Israel to our university campuses.
