JPlate: TZISIT

November 5, 2025

SAN DIEGO — Perry Arenson spotted this license plate near a local golf course.  Tzisit, an alternate spelling for tzitzit, are the strings hanging from a tallit (prayer shawl) worn during Jewish morning services mostly by men, but increasingly by women.

This was Perry’s first submission to the JPlate column, but we hope it’s not the last.  Thanks Perry.  And thanks also go to David Ogul, who forwarded the photo to SDJW at Perry’s request.
