NEW YORK (Press Release) –The official propaganda outlet of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Latin America significantly ramped up its hateful rhetoric over the last two years, according to a report from ADL (the Anti-Defamation League) issued today.
The report found that Iran’s HispanTV routinely publishes content that advances antisemitic tropes about Jewish power, conspiracy theories, demonization of Israel and glorification of the terror organizations Hamas and Hezbollah – and that the intensity of this hateful content has increased dramatically over the last two years since the Oct. 7 attacks in Israel and the ensuing war against Hamas.
The report was released at the 2026 Munich Security Conference in Munich, Germany, where ADL is hosting an official side event titled, “Tehran’s Long Arm: Mapping Iran’s Growing Influence and Threat in Latin America.”
“The Iranian regime’s media outlet is spreading classic antisemitic conspiracy theories and anti-Israel propaganda to potentially millions of people across Latin America and beyond, making the Islamic Republic a destabilizing force not only in the Middle East, but across the Spanish-speaking world,” said Jonathan Greenblatt, ADL CEO. “With antisemitism already at historic levels globally, Tehran is funding a massive media propaganda operation that is priming the pump for spreading antisemitism and hate against Israel and Jews the world over.”
HispanTV is the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Spanish-language media outlet. It is widely available to viewers across Latin America and reaches a potential audience of nearly 600 million Spanish speakers through satellite, cable, livestreaming and social media.
It is also the world’s leading platform for peddling antisemitic hate and disseminating anti-Israel prejudice and incitement across Latin America and the wider Spanish-speaking world, according to ADL’s new report.
The report includes a call to action — urging policymakers, media corporations and digital platforms to immediately close loopholes that allow the Iranian regime to use HispanTV to disseminate its antisemitic content to global audiences.
“Government authorities should investigate the links between HispanTV and sanctioned Iranian regime entities and officials and consider designating HispanTV as a foreign state influence operation of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” said Marina Rosenberg, ADL Senior Vice President of International Affairs and former Israeli Ambassador to Chile. “We also call social media companies to take action to deplatform HispanTV for its breach of their policies and community guidelines against spreading antisemitism and hate speech.”
ADL’s report found that HispanTV’s content from July 2024 to December 2025 systematically propagates a cohesive ideological narrative that:
- Recycles long-standing antisemitic tropes about Jewish and Zionist power, explicitly referencing “the power of the Jews” and presenting Jews as manipulating global media, controlling Western governments through “lobbies,” and operating as a malevolent force with their “claws” (garras in Spanish) in state institutions.
- Depicts Israel as the center of global conspiracy and deception, alleging control over artificial intelligence (ChatGPT), social media platforms (TikTok, X), and international information flows through Jewish billionaires and “bribed” Western media corporations.
- Legitimizes and glorifies violent extremist organizations, portraying Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis as resistance forces showing “extraordinary examples of heroism and bravery,” celebrating attacks that killed civilians, and promising continued violence until the “complete annihilation of the occupants.”
- Celebrates the October 7 attacks as legitimate and praiseworthy, describing them as “impressive” and “extraordinary” achievements, a “tsunami” that swept away Israel, with flames that “will never be extinguished.”
- Elevates the Iranian regime as a moral and strategic alternative to Western democracies, positioning Tehran as the defender of truth and justice and the strategic center of the “Axis of Resistance.”
- Systematically delegitimizes Israel’s very right to exist, framing the state as a “colonial,” “genocidal,” and “terrorist” project, and fundamentally illegitimate.
