Former Senator Norm Coleman to Defense Policy Board

Norm Coleman

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Republican Jewish Coalition released the following statement on the appointment of RJC National Chairman Senator Norm Coleman to serve on the Department of War’s Defense Policy Board as Vice Chair.

RJC CEO Matt Brooks said:

“We enthusiastically applaud the appointment of RJC National Chairman, Senator Norm Coleman, to serve as Vice Chair of the Department of War’s Defense Policy Board.

“There is no one more qualified to help guide America’s strategic posture at this critical moment. Senator Coleman will bring his trusted judgment, decades of policy leadership, and unwavering commitment to American security to this important work.

“Under the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Hegseth, the Department of War has restored the warrior ethos, rebuilt unparalleled deterrence, and put America’s adversaries on notice.

“The RJC is proud to work hand-in-hand with President Trump and his administration to keep America strong and confront the threats facing our country and partners.”

Harassment of California State Sen. Scott Wiener

SACRAMENTO, California –The California Legislative Jewish Caucus released the following statement regarding the physical intimidation and harassment of Senator Scott Wiener on June 26:

“The ongoing harassment directed at Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) is unacceptable and must be called out for what it is: antisemitism. Senator Wiener, a proud champion of the Jewish and LGBTQ+ communities, was targeted while participating in a Pride Shabbat in connection with the Trans March. This was the latest in a series of hateful incidents targeting Senator Wiener that are part of a broader effort to exclude, isolate, and ostracize him because of his Jewish identity.

All Californians – including members of the Jewish community – must be able to safely and fully participate in civil life and our democratic process. Hate has no home in California.”
