SAN DIEGO (Press Release) – Stephen P. Cushman, one of San Diego’s most trusted and respected civic leaders, philanthropists, and a member of the San Diego County Assessment Appeals Board, on Monday released a statement on the activities of his Political Action Committee, San Diegans for Tax Fairness (SDTF) and the role it played in the race that elected chief deputy assessor Jordan Marks, as the next County ARCC.

SDTF raised and spent over $200,000 in the effort to elect Marks, who is Jewish, to succeed his long-time mentor and boss, Assessor Ernie Dronenberg.
Cushman said, “Everyone has their ‘Jordan Marks story,’ because so many thousands of individuals in our County have been touched by this authentic and effective public servant. As chief deputy assessor, Jordan has saved county taxpayers millions of dollars, uncovered waste and fraud, administered thousands of marriages, and restored faith in the effectiveness of government through his unmatched passion for service. I’m proud to have engaged in this race and to have collaborated with an incredible team that played a part in this momentous victory for the taxpayers of San Diego County. The best candidate won, and I am looking forward to seeing what Jordan will accomplish next as our Assessor.”
