Congregation Beth Israel’s Adult Education Committee presents “Courageous Conversations Series with Rabbi Elana Ackerman Hirsch and Rachel Wegner” at 5:30 p.m., Thursdays starting May 8 and ending June 5. The Lipinsky Family San Diego Jewish Arts Festival announces its “16th Women of Valor” at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, June 5 at the Lawrence Family JCC and at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 8 at the Hive at Leichtag Commons. This event will include honoring six San Diego Jewish women through stories, songs, images and inspiration. Israeli American Council’s Shishi Israeli presents Shavuot Potluck at 6 p.m., Friday, June 6 in Carmel Valley. The event includes a kosher-style Shavuot potluck picnic, music, and community. Jewish Federation of San Diego announces its “Global Shabbat: Your Passport to Flavor, Culture, and Connection” at 7 p.m., Friday, June 6 at Lawrence Family JCC. The evening includes a Shabbat dinner featuring culinary treasures from around the world. Coastal Roots Farm is calling all nature explorers to Farm Camp. Summer Camp is designed for PreK- 5th grade nature lovers. Each week is full of hands-on farm adventures, singing, science experiments, art projects, chicken visits, and harvesting snacks straight from the soil. Congregation Adat Yeshurun presents “The Jewish Community of Syria Through the Generations” at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 10. Ayelet Tours announces a new tour “Tracing Our Roots: A Jewish Heritage Journey Through Eastern Europe Led by Professor Yale Strom and Elizabeth Schwartz” October 19 to October 30, 2025. This tour will take attendees to Poland and Czech Republic visiting towns such as Lodz, Brno and Pilsen. Strom and Schwartz will add their klezmer/Yiddish music to the tour as well as participating in concerts with other professional musicians in Krakow, Bnro, and Prague. Click here for more details.
