Opinion: U.S. should stop dithering with Iran

February 27, 2026

By Steve Kramer in Kfar Saba, Israel

Generally, Westerners are clueless about the overarching goal of the Islamists, chiefly the Iranian mullahs. The Islamists’ objective is the spread of Islam over the entire globe, pure and simple. Iran already sees great progress in Western Europe, where Muslim immigrants were welcomed into countries like France, Germany, and Spain.

The Eastern European countries were much more astute in NOT inviting anti-Western elements into their countries. Consequently, it’s countries like France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK that are suffering from a dilution of Western values and an increase in detrimental Islamic influence, while Hungary and other similar countries do not face this problem.

Right now, the West, principally the US, has the opportunity to stop this violent assault on Western values, but only by action instead of useless negotiations. (Even if Iran signs an agreement it will not fulfill it.) President Trump is fast approaching his deadline with Iran to stop its nuclear progress and (hopefully) its extensive ballistic missile capabilities.

At this time Iran’s prime targets are the State of Israel and US assets in the region. Will President Trump press the US military advantage? Extending negotiations is not the way. When the Iranians face hard decisions they demur and turn to continued negotiation. This is a time-wasting procedure which allows Iran to boost its offensive and defensive capabilities.

Meanwhile, the West cooperates in Iran’s negotiating strategy, which is superior to that of its Western interlocutors.
