By CeCe Acosta in La Mesa, California
(An original poem written in response to reading The Diary of Anne Frank)
An attic full of strawberries
A hand full of cards
Families forgetting they had to be wary
Their lives now forever covered in scars
Blood on the pages of a life too short
Lives changed for the worse
People in need of some support
Instead, were treated like a curse
Things shifting with the blink of an eye
Changing with the snap of a finger
Hoping and praying not to die
She’s always been a sharp thinker
Now left high and dry
Being shot down by Nazi guards
The blue bird no longer flies
Left with nothing but kind regards
Families regretting
Their lives are forever covered in scars

Wow! Amazing work.
Cece is amazing. Her poem was wonderful. It was written with such compassion and understanding. I thought it was excellent.
Yes CeCe, life like so many millions stolen by hatred and greed.
