WASHINGTON, D.C. (Press Release) — Democratic Majority for Israel PAC on Tuesday celebrated Johnny Garcia’s victory in the Democratic primary runoff in Texas’s 35th Congressional District, where voters decisively rejected Maureen Galindo, whose long record of virulent antisemitic conspiracy theories made her unfit to serve in the Democratic caucus. DMFI PAC was one of the first national organizations to endorse Garcia, announcing its support on February 19, 2026, as part of the launch of the DMFI PAC Majority Project whose goal is to elect pro-Israel Democratic candidates and help win the House majority. The PAC backed up that public-facing work with a six-figure independent expenditure.
“Republicans just spent weeks and almost a million dollars propping up an antisemite, and they should be ashamed and embarrassed — it was a disgrace. Tonight is a victory for the voters of TX-35, for the Democratic Party, and for every Democrat who believes that antisemitism has no home in our coalition,” said DMFI PAC President Brian Romick. “We endorsed Johnny Garcia in February because he is exactly the kind of candidate Democrats need to win back the House: a coalition builder who supports a strong U.S.-Israel relationship and has been clear in standing against antisemitism. DMFI PAC sounded the early alarm about Maureen Galindo and her vile, antisemitic record. We invested the resources necessary to make sure the voters of TX-35 had the full picture before they cast a ballot. Congratulations to Johnny on a hard-earned win, and to the Democratic voters of this district for sending a clear message.”
