SDJW staff report
The Boundless polling service says 64 percent of American adults agree that antisemitism has increased since Oct. 7, 2023 with 38 percent saying it has become socially acceptable, 21 percent saying it is a justifiable reaction to the war in Gaza, and 15 percent believing American Jews are complicit in genocide.
Boundless CEO Aviva Klompas said: “There is no justification for surrounding a synagogue or harassing Jews in the name of political protest. It’s not enough for Americans to acknowledge that antisemitism is rising. We need real policy, education, and action to combat this hatred today.”

Rochelle Schwartz, a congregant of Chabad of Poway, was present for the shooting on Passover of 2019 which killed congregant Lori Gilbert Kaye. Schwartz told an interviewer, “When I went back to the synagogue on (the) following Shabbat, I had no apprehension. I felt that was the right thing to do because in my mind, if you don’t go back, the haters win.”
