The Washington Post reported that federal investigators who conducted a predawn raid Monday on the Washington D.C. home of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) may have failed to follow instructions of U.S. Magistrate Judge Matthew J. Sharbaugh, who issued the search warrant.
The daily newspaper said that Omar’s lawyers Amy Jeffress and Joshua Matz said in a complaint to the Justice Department that investigators failed to provide Omar with a copy of the warrant nor to notify the House office of General Counsel before conducting the search.
The Justice Department denied the allegations, saying “Our attorneys and law enforcement partners complied with all court orders and legal obligations, as they always do.”
