SAN DIEGO (Press Release)–The College Avenue Senior Center, operated by Jewish Family Service inside the social hall of Beth Jacob Congregation at 4855 College Avenue, has announced its schedule for November:
Tuesday, November 6 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Open House: You’re invited to the College Avenue Cyber Café Open House. Come see what the buzz is about.
· We’ll have computer and internet demonstrations, tutorials, and refreshments (coffee & pastries).
· Election Day – Watch results in real time as they are tallied.
· View Online Health Resources – Health related websites on display
Tuesdays, November 6, 13, 20, 27, and December 4, 11 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
OASIS – Introduction to Microsoft Excel – 6 two-hour sessions: This course teaches Microsoft Excel basics. Excel is a spreadsheet program that helps you manage mathematical information. It is frequently used in today’s workplace. Once you begin to understand the basics, you will find it is an easy and fun application to use. For example, you can use Excel to budget your personal finances and keep track of your investments. You can also use Excel to follow loan repayments, compare different mortgages, create invoices and more. Prior experience with the computer and an understanding of the Windows operating system is recommended. Must register by 10/23 in order to have a workbook on the first day of class! $35 for members, $45 for non-members (includes workbook to keep)

Art Show: A delightful exhibition of unique arts and crafts by our own College Avenue artists! The show will feature works from the painting class taught by Marsha Austin-Rogers, and from the knitting group led by Vilma Golfinos. After lunch, Sonja Simons will be there to enchant us with her wonderful piano playing. Please join us as we celebrate our collective creativity! Join us for music and dessert at 12:45 p.m.!
