SAN DIEGO (SDJW) — Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk, Ernie Dronenburg will present the children of the A.B. and Jessie Polinsky Children’s Center with a donation of $15,000 on Friday, May 30, thanks to couples who purchase framed photographs of their civil weddings.
The photos, taken by Dronenberg’s staff, ” have been captured during one of the happiest and most important days of a couple’s lives.” Dronenberg added, “Helping the children at the Polinsky Children’s Center has been a long lasting tradition of the Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk’s office. This effort has been ongoing since 2000.”
The photographs offer the couples a special memory of their wedding day and the funds generated assist the children at the Polinsky Children’s Center by allowing them to attend activities in the community, including field trips to athletic events, visits to amusement parks, movies, restaurants, camping and beach trips.
The Polinsky Children’s Center offers Emergency Shelter Care for children, ranging in age from newborns up to the age of 18. The center serves an average of 60 – 90 children per day. Approximately 2,500 – 3,000 children are admitted each year to the center, which was named for Jewish philanthropists.
